Hello Everybody! I would kindly like to welcome you.
My name’s Nurul Indarti, was born in Yogyakarta, on August 3rd, 1976. I grew up in three different cities in Indonesia: Bandung (West of Java), Medan (North of Sumatera) and Yogyakarta, that is the last place where I finally finished my first level of higher education. That is Bachelor degree (Thanks God! I got cumlaude) from Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Gadjah Mada University in July, 1998. Before that, I studied at Junior High School 5 (SMP 5) and Senior High School 8 (SMA 8 ) in Yogyakarta.
Time flies! I’ve been married now for about 9 years, with Fathul Wahid. Married life has been what I hoped and more, some good and some challenging. After God gave us beautiful girl, Aqila Salma Kamila (August, 23rd 1999) dan a cheerful little girl, Ahsana Zaima Mahira (May, 13th 2011). Thanks God! We found that life is much more colourful. This great family continuously provide me life’s oil that burns my spirit to struggle in the life.
I have been working as a teacher and researcher at Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Gadjah Mada, UGM (now; Faculty of Economics and Business) since December 1998. I have been lecturing both undergraduate (i.e Regular and International Program) and graduate levels (i.e Master of Science and Master of Management for regular and executive classes) at UGM. The courses are operations management, quantitative methods for decision making, introduction to business, entrepreneurship, business modelling, business research methods, and knowledge & innovation management. It has been a great pleasure to have opportunity to share our knowledge to other.
In 2000-2003, I got a great opportunity to take my master program in Norway. I finished a one-year Norwegian Language and Civilization at Telemark University College, Bø, Telemark in 2001. After that, I continued to take Siviløkonom which is equivalent to Master of Science and Business Administration (specialization on Project Management) at School of Management, Agder University College (now; University of Agder), Kristiansand, in 2002. Then, completed another master degree, candidata mercatoria, equivalent to Master of Science, (specialization on Operations and Strategic Management) from Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, Bergen, Norway in 2003.
After finishing my graduate studies, I was involved at Small- and Medium Enterprise and Development Center, Gadjah Mada University as vice deputy of operations and database management in 2003- May 2005. In June 2005 till January 2007, I became a vice director of Management Research and Development, Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM. And, in February 2007, I start my long- and tough PhD journey on knowlegde and innovation at Faculty of Management and Organization, (in this September become Faculty of Economics and Business), University of Groningen, The Netherlands. Finally, I reached at the end of the journey on October 4th 2010. Thanks God! For giving me such huge opportunity to grasp a little of Your limitless knowledge. … since, … and you are not given aught of knowledge but a little (QS. 17: 85).
